Die Trying
Reacher is kidnapped alongside an FBI agent in Chicago and taken to a remote Montana compound run by a militia with plans for the nation.
In Lee Child’s second Jack Reacher novel, published in 1998, Reacher is on a Chicago street when he helps a woman on crutches and is abducted along with her. She turns out to be Holly Johnson, an FBI agent with powerful connections, and the pair are driven across the country to a Montana compound where a militia is preparing an audacious strike against the federal government. Reacher must escape and stop the plot with little help from outside.
