Tim Winton

Two boys, an older surfer and a search for bigger waves that brings them close to death.

Tim Winton’s novel about two teenage boys in a small town on the coast of Western Australia who fall under the spell of Sando, an older surfer who teaches them to ride ever more dangerous waves. Narrated years later by Bruce Pike, known as Pikelet, it is a story about risk, the thrill of nearly dying, and the damage done when young people are pushed to the edge.
