Dibs in Search of Self
A silent, withdrawn boy finds his voice through play therapy, in a classic account of a child's inner life.
Virginia M. Axline, a pioneer of play therapy, describes her sessions with Dibs, a young boy who barely spoke and whom his parents and teachers could not reach. Through play, Dibs slowly reveals a bright and troubled mind. First published in 1964, the book remains one of the most widely read accounts of child therapy.

What this book does is to beautifully and sensitively describe how we can understand such a bizarre presentation, and, by understanding it, how we can unlock this little person and enable him to be understood and be the best little person he can be. I think it is a very empowering and kind book.
