We the Media
Grassroots Journalism By the People, For the People
Dan Gillmor’s 2004 book on what happens when the audience acquires the tools of publication. Written by a newspaper columnist who saw it coming early, it argues that journalism was becoming a conversation rather than a lecture, and works through blogs, wikis, open-source reporting and the legal and commercial questions they raised. Released under a Creative Commons licence, which was itself part of the argument.
