Green’s biopunk London runs on engineered biology rather than chrome, and the corporations that own the patents own the people who carry them. A courier, a hacker and a disgraced scientist end up holding something the companies want back. The anger is the engine here: it is a novel about ecological and corporate collapse being the same collapse, written with enough momentum that the argument never stalls the plot.
