Alex Bellos read mathematics and philosophy at Oxford, then spent five years as the Guardian’s South America correspondent, where he wrote Futebol and later ghostwrote Pele’s autobiography. Returning to Britain, he went back to the subject he had trained in. Alex’s Adventures in Numberland spent four months on the Sunday Times bestseller list and was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize; Alex Through the Looking-Glass followed in 2014. He writes on mathematics for the Guardian.
