Knowledge outgrew the container it was kept in. What replaces the book and the expert is the network itself.
David Weinberger argues that knowledge has outgrown the containers built to hold it. A book, a journal, an expert, a curriculum all imposed a filter, and the network removes it. What replaces the old settlement is messier and more argumentative, and Weinberger thinks that is closer to how knowledge actually works than the tidy version we inherited.
