Alastair Campbell
Journalist and Political Strategist
Alastair Campbell was Tony Blair’s spokesman and campaign director from 1994, then Downing Street press secretary and director of communications until 2003, and he came to that from a career in newspapers. He now writes and broadcasts, co-hosting The Rest Is Politics. His published diaries run to several volumes, and he has written repeatedly and without euphemism about depression and alcohol, which is the strand of his work readers tend to come to him for.
